Lesbian Coming Out Meet-up Saturday 10th June 2-4pm
This is an event at LILAC for women who have recently come out, or are thinking about coming out as lesbian to meet in a relaxed and supportive social environment. Pass it on - let your friends know!
Winter Solstice Social Friday 23rd June 6pm
Come to the LILAC Lounge for a relaxing Friday evening social get-together. Catch up with old friends and make some new ones. Check out the latest books and the exhibitions. The wonderful map of lesbian history in Wellington is back up on the wall - it's a gem.

The Collective have come up with a list of events, with details still to be firmed up.
- August: Quiz night
- September: Spring Art Exhibition opening
- October: Lesbian Herstory Month event: a local history tour of places of lesbian interest in the CBD, finishing at LILAC
- November: AGM
- Film fundraisers whenever we spot an interesting movie
There will also be another Coming Out meetup for women who are in the process of, or who have recently, come out.
We welcome suggestions from members of events they would like to see at the LILAC Lounge, and could help organise and run them.

Current exhibitions at LILAC
The current exhibition at LILAC is a display of Alison Bechdel's calendars from the 1990s, from a private collection.
Too young to remember Alison's Dykes to watch out for comic strips? We have the books at LILAC. And check her website - there's a blog post about her visit to Paek?k?riki in 2014!
Also on display are card reproductions of paintings by Wilhelmina Irving, an Indonesian-born woman of Dutch heritage who spent her adult life in New Zealand.

Book Group is taking a break until Spring
In the meantime there will be a rotating display of books on the top shelf at the east end of the room where Book Group suggestions are usually displayed. Currently New Zealand biographies and memoirs, changing next week to biographical fiction.

The A&A Trust commemorates the support of Bette Armstrong and Bea Arthur for the lesbian community in Wellington. It is a registered charity that welcomes bequests and donations to enable it to assist lesbian communities in the Wellington region.
