September 2022 news from LILAC
Kia ora

Welcome to the September LILAC newsletter with news of a Coming Out Meetup, another art exhibition, Book Group news, and new titles in the library this month. Come in and visit LILAC soon - Wellington's premier lesbian space, and cosy at this time of year.

An event coming soon to LILAC for women who have recently or are thinking about coming out as lesbian to meet in a relaxed and supportive social environment. Pass it on - let your friends know!

Art at LILAC

A big thank you to all the artists who contributed to the Winter Art Exhibition - it was a varied and interesting group of works.

A new smaller Exhibition is now up:
Photographs by Helen Barlow and Paint sketches by Lizzie Kerr.

A small event for this exhibition will be on Saturday 17th September 2-4pm to meet Helen and Lizzie and hear about the works.

Quiz Night redux

The Quiz Night at LILAC on 26 August was WILDLY SUCCESSFUL and great fun, with only half a point separating the first and second teams. Robynne was a natural as quiz mistress and kept it all moving along nicely with good humour and lots of chocolate. Debbie was very efficient collating the scores, and Ellen just faffed around boiling the jug etc.

Six teams of four, with 2 of the teams being young women who had never been to LILAC before. Four new members and one rejoined ... and they went happily out the door with books to read - one had commented that she was impressed with the number of recent books in the collection.

Tickets for the Monster Yummy Raffle were sold, and it was drawn - Sally H was a deserving winner.

It's cosy at the LILAC Lounge. Come along for September Book Group or just pop in to get some reading or movies. Tea, coffee and bikkies available.

Book Group Wednesday 14th September 6.15 - 7.30pm
