Welcome to a special LILAC newsflash: LILAC is reopening - under Level 2 rules. LILAC's tattoo exhibition is still on display until October, and we're celebrating Wellington lesbian history with a number of events in October.
LILAC reopening on Wednesday 15 September
LILAC Library is reopening next Wednesday, and will be open at our regular hours:
Wednesdays 5.30-7.30pm
Thursdays 11am-2pm
Saturdays 11am-2pm
We will be operating under Delta Level 2 rules just like public libraries:
scan in or sign in
wear your facemask
stay 2 metres apart
hand sanitiser is available
Visit and view the Tattoos Exhibition during September.
We cannot hold events until we return to Level 1, so no Tuesdays at the LILAC Lounge.
Lesbian History Month events
We are organising a number of events celebrating lesbian history in October. These include:
Wed 6 October - Map of Wellington's lesbian history
Wed 13 October - Circle magazine and early lesbian activism
Wed 20 October - relaunch of LILAC's much loved book club
Wed 27 October - lesbian sports ... remember the Amazons! - contributors welcome

LILAC Book Group relaunch
The Book Group will be relaunching on Wednesday 20 October at 6pm ... level 1 permitting.
Guest author Angele Toomey speaking about and reading from her new book "Harbour". It is inspired by her daily commute from Upper Hutt.
The A&A Trust commemorates the support of Bette Armstrong and Bea Arthur for the lesbian community in Wellington. It is a registered charity that welcomes bequestsand donations to enable it to assist lesbian communities in the Wellington region.
