Are you okay - a talk by Mia Farlane

Thursday 25 March 6.30pm

Kiwi author Mia Farlane will speak at LILAC library on writing and researching.

Mia writes darkly humorous literary fiction re flailing relationships, failed intimacies and mental health. After spending several years in France she moved to London. Her first novel 'Footnotes to Sex' (Viking/Penguin) is available at LILAC. She returned to Aotearoa in 2019, completing her third novel thanks to a Creative NZ grant. Mia has recently returned to Wellington for another visit, and is writing full-time.

There will be drinks and nibbles from 6.30pm before the presentation by Mia at 7pm.

Koha admission at the LILAC Lounge, level 2,187 Willis Street - there is a lift.
We look forward to seeing you there.

This event is part of the Wellington Pride Festival 2021.

Tuesdays at the LILAC Lounge - Pride edition

As part of the Wellington Pride Festival 2021 we are offering a board games evening with Cards Against Humanity! on Tuesday 23 March at 6.30pm. This is an adults only event. As its name suggests, Cards Against Humanity is hilarious, and in profoundly bad taste. This event is not suitable for polite women with even the vaguest hint of sensibility. The rest of us will have a lot of fun.

LILAC at Out in the City - the gay Fair

LILAC will have a stall at the annual gay fair - this year Out in the City in the Michael Fowler Centre.
We will be selling quality books and have a raffle or two to raise money to help keep the library and venue running. Fresh off the press we have copies of the new novel 'Rising tide' by Jennifer Palgrave (Lois & Hilary) at a special reduced price. Stop by at our stall and see what we have - lots of goodies going at very fair prices!

Please BRING CASH and a carry bag - cash is needed at the Fair as small organisations cannot afford mobile eftpos ... tell your buddies.
